Course Summary

The ITIL Intermediate Qualification – Managing Across the Lifecycle course presents the end-to-end view of management and utilizes all the lifecycle and capabilities activities related to IT Service Management.

This course is delivered as 5 Full Days in both a Classroom or Instructor Led Online format.

This course is designed using an engaging case study-based approach to learning the core disciplines of the ITIL best practice and positions the student to successfully complete the associated exam.

This qualification focuses on strategizing, planning, using and measuring ITIL practices in an integrated functioning model:

  • How the service lifecycle stages form an integrated whole
  • Process integration and interfaces
  • Shared data / information / knowledge

Successful completion of this course is the final step in achieving the “ITIL Expert” qualification.

Prerequisites

Students wishing to be trained and examined for this qualification must already hold the ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management (2 credits from ITIL Foundation V3/2011 or V2 Foundation plus Bridge Certificate) and have obtained a further 15 credits (a total of at least 17 credits) as a minimum from a balanced selection of ITIL Service Lifecycle or Service Capability qualifications. Documentary evidence of this must be presented to gain admission to this certification level.

Upon successful completion of the education and examination components related to this qualification, candidates can expect to gain competencies in the following:

Instruction Method

This course has mandatory 30 contact hours as well as a recommendation of completing 28 hours of self-study prior to starting the course.

There is a minimum class size of 6 students and a maximum class size of 18 students.

Two official sample exams will be provided during the course.

The following requirements must be met in order to participate in online training:

  • All online sessions will be delivered through Adobe Connect.
  • Students require access to a fast and reliable internet connection and a headset and microphone. All audio will be run through your computer, Voice-over-IP, as there is no dial-in option for this training.
  • Test your connection here. All of the tests must pass. Your local IT department should be able to assist with installing Flash and the Adobe Connect plug-in if there are any difficulties.
  • All sessions are mandatory.

Exam Information

The exam is 2 hours long and consists of 10 multiple choice questions worth a maximum of 5 marks each. Students must get 35 (70%) or more to pass the exam.

For classroom based courses: A paper-based certification exam is included with the registration and is taken during the afternoon of the fourth day.

For online instructor led based courses: A computer-based certification exam is included with the registration. Students will be provided with an exam voucher that will allow them to take the exam at their convenience through a web-based exam proctor within 30 days of the completion of the course. Students will require access to a webcam and high speed internet connection.

This guide will be provided to all participants as part of the registration. For students attending an instructor led online course, registrations must be received 2 weeks prior to the start date otherwise there will be a charge for rush delivery.
